The Portable Observation device (POD)

The new P.O.D. can be used in any room with an available network point for remote viewing and recording. It can also be connected directly to a laptop or PC via a crossover cable or wireless router for recording and editing. The camera is fully controllable with pan, tilt and zoom, and has a fixed high quality microphone and a socket for an optional radio microphone.

We also provide Lesson Capture software for use with the POD to aid staff development. Whilst operating the camera the observer can record and make time-stamped notes. They can also use counter and timer tools to collect data about teaching and learning behaviour. Also included is a playback and quick editing programme that allows the observer to add notes on the video itself and create instant Flash, Quicktime or Windows Media movies for immediate feedback for the teacher.
